A Weekend at Home

Another weekend at home! I'm so excited! We are going to get the downstairs bathroom finished- once and for all. Just a little touch up paint, buy a dresser/cabinet for towels and extra toilet paper, and hang some pics, then wall-ah (sp?), done!

We had so much fun last night, out on a real grown-up date! We went to the UMM young alumni event at Babalu restaurant in the warehouse dist. We had a few drinks (sex on the beach and a mojito), and had a salsa lesson. The only bad part was that some guy (not my husband, nor my friend Becky's husband) stepped on my toes, and tore my big toenail halfway off. It smarts! Good thing I'm hangin' with a podiatrist next weekend!

Our babysitters did an excellent job, and didn't look too traumatized. We were surprised to see A sleeping on a quilt on the living room floor, and B wide awake, holding court and entertaining from his bouncy chair, but other than a few wrinkles in the general plan, things went smoothly, and a wonderful time was had by all. I hope to go out again sometime soon!

One funny thing A said yesterday was, "mommy's going out- mommy's going out with Hope." I don't know where she got that, or where she thought daddy was going, but she was sure that I was going to go out with my friend Hope last night. She also had questions about what was that thing in my hair (a headband), and where were my glasses, and commented that I smelled nice (I guess I usually don't?!)

Mike and I are on disc 3 of Lost, season 1. I'm afraid we didn't time things out right, with the weekend and all, because we'll be done with the disc by the end of tonight, and then what are we going to do on Saturday and Sunday nights? Aaghghh- why doesn't the mail get delivered on Sundays, too?

Piece of Cake

I'm doing great today, soreness-wise. I'm still excited about getting back into exercise, and it's been over 24 hours, so that's a good sign that this new whim might have a little more sticking power than my usual gnat-like dedication to projects/self-improvement agendas/etc. I was looking back through the archives of Danielle's blog today (A. loves to look at pictures), and enjoyed seeing for the second time several family pictures that she has posted. I realized that we don't have one, not even one, picture of the four of us together. I know we have a few pictures of Mike with both kids, and a picture of B with Mike and me for his baptism, but not a picture with all four of us. That is something I am going to aim to remedy. So no picture for you today!

Woah! Totally Excited.....About Exercise?

I can't believe it! I just got back from LIFT, a group weight lifting class at the club, and I had a great time!!! It felt so good to use my body again, I felt like when I used to exercise regularly in high school and college. My arms feel a little bit fatigued and shaky right now- that's the best! I would like to go again! I really can't believe it.

Where's the Club?

I just decided that I am going to workout tonight with Danielle. We are going to go to a weight class. That means I'll probably not be able to move for the next three days, but I think it will feel good. Now where in the heck is my club membership card?- probably in my gym bag, but where that is is a mystery.

That means that tonight I will not be able to attend to the latest project I've decided to dedicate my time- throwing away PAPERS, and organizing our office area. Mike will maybe even take me out for a real date if I get this project finished!

We are going to go out on Thursday night for the UMM Young Alums summer event. I feel lucky to be included in the young alums (I'm in the first graduating class in the range still considered young, so I'll be one of the old young, but who cares?), and it is at a restaurant in Mpls to which I have never been, so I think it will be worth checking out.

I'm in love!

My little B is such a joy. He is so darn sweet, he makes me smile everytime I look at him. Mainly because everytime I look, he shoots me one of his heart-melting sunshine-emitting whole face lights up smiles. I'm having such a great time with him, I don't know if it's because I know now how quickly babies grow up after watching his big sister, or because I don't worry as much about him, because I'm a more confident mommy now. My A has also been just darling lately- so full of kisses and hugs. We finally got the swing which Grandma gave her for her first birthday hung up from a tree in the back yard. It's so funny that she used to want nothing to do with swinging, and now she can't get enough. I don't know if I mentioned yet that we went out for ice cream last week, to celebrate her first poop on the potty. We are so proud of her! And she is so proud also!

Mrs. F Rendered Speechless

After weeks of prompting, "you know, you could post an entry on our blog..." here I am with nothing clever to say, in response to my husband's oh so witty blog. I'm too exhausted from all the high-tech internet transactions he mentioned to even compete with his brilliance. I'd say he was a hit though- 4 comments is a record! Now I'd like to hear what Officer Glucose has to say...

Mr. F Rendered Obsolete

Hey Bloggy Bloggersons.

Now that our family has entered the world of cutting edge technology, I am going to use my dwindling editorial powers to make a post to Milk and O's before Mrs. F realizes my high-speed office connection and I are no longer needed for her to post pictures to this blog and these powers are taken away from me.

It has been a pleasure bringing you pictures of our family over the past several months. They are my pride and joy, and I trust that Mrs. F will assume this role with determination and vigor, as her love affair with the internet can only grow stronger during these exciting times of being able to download things faster than the speed of light.

To all the husbands of the regular readers of Milk and O's (Officer Glucose, Mr. B, Mr. H ...), I am thinking of forming a support group for spouses occasionally abandoned due to blogging wife syndrome ("BWS"). BWS is becoming a very real issue in our society, and I propose we fight the BWS epidemic by returning to the dark ages of pre-internet technology. We could do things like listen to albums, watch T.V., meet face-to-face for lunch, or call each other on the arcaic device known as the telephone. And not one of those wireless cellular telephones either. I'm talking land-line, non-speed dial, punch in the number type telephones.

Let me know if you are interested. If you need me, Mrs. F can usually track me down. After all, I'm either playing softball, drinking beer in some parking lot after said softball, or at the office going out to lunch and doing nothing productive between the weekday hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This is Mr. F signing off. Happy blogging!

My first high-speed posted photo!

It has been worth all of the struggle, to get my cable internet hooked up, with the ease of uploading pictures I just experienced! Here is my growing boy! Isn't he a sweetheart? We are heading to Madison, WI once again for a fastpitch tournament. Since it will be so bloomin' hot, the babes and I will probably spend the weekend in the A/C with Bridget and Maren. Hope everyone stays cool!

#56- Happy Family

We are back from our journey! We had a nice time with our friends Greta and Dave at their home in Batavia, IL on Thursday and Friday. Our little A played with/argued/ignored their little A, who turned two on Friday. We enjoyed the lovely weather at a splash park on Friday, and on the patio at California Pizza Kitchen (which reminded me of the new development in Maple Grove), with a glass of Riesling on Friday night. On Saturday, we drove Mike up to Bristol, WI for the annual Progress Days fastpitch tournament. A, B, and I stayed with Greta and Dave on Saturday night, and headed back to Bristol on Sunday morning to catch the parade, and softball tournament action. A also enjoyed some nice swinging in the shade at the adjoining park, during Mike's game. Kipper and Maisy DVDs saved the day during the long drives in the Pilot on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was nice to be back in Illinois, since it brought back some nice memories of our early newlywed days, but I couldn't imagine raising our babes so far away from family and friends. The other nice thing about Illinois is Giordano's Pizza, which we brought home with us! We stopped in Gurnee on our way home from Wisconsin on Sunday, and picked up two frozen stuffed crust pizzas. Danielle, Mark, Hope and Chad will probably recall the delicious breakfasts of Giordano's we enjoyed when they visited Wadsworth for New Year's Eve 2000! The Chicago-style stuffed crust pizzas have this wonderful cheese like I have experienced no where else! Yum!

Public Service Announcement

For those of you who are fans of Danielle's blog, I wanted to let you know that she will not be posting to her blog for a while, since she has to send her computer back to Dell. She spent about 3 hours on the phone with Dell customer service today, to determine whether or not it was a hardware or software problem, and they arrived at the conclusion that the computer had to be sent in for further investigation. Something about the inside of her computer being all melted?...The good news is that Danielle's brother in law (he's an I.T. guy) came over and backed up her pictures since Georgie was 9 months old! Can you imagine losing pictures???

Okay, this is back to being Milk and O's! Just wanted to give Danielle's loyal fans an update!

A Day in Wisconsin

We were in Wisconsin on Saturday for a baby shower for Maren, hosted by my aunt. It was a nice time, especially because my cousin's new wife, Nok, made some amazing Thai dishes. I was so stuffed and happy. More about that to come... The men went kayaking while we were doing the girly shower stuff; Mike said it was a fun experience.

Just wanted to check in, and let you know I'm still here. Nap time hasn't been as smooth as I'd like lately, therefore my blogging has suffered. I am up and running with my cable connection now- I just have to work a few kinks out, so I should be able to post pictures on my very own. Although Mike is still encouraged to do so- I'm still waiting for him to write a comment or two!

We are heading to Illinois and Bristol, WI tomorrow, for a visit with my PA school friends and babies, babies, babies and a fastpitch tournament, respectively. I'll write about that adventure when we return! Katie
