As Bennett put it...

"There's pee everywhere!!!" Bennett has been peeing standing up for 1.5 days now, and it was going well until this afternoon. What great timing- intensive bathroom cleaning and house showings!!! I came to the realization today that I cannot continue to live the way I have been for the past 13 days. Selling the house may take longer than I initially counted on. We've still got to live in it. So I'm going to work on being more relaxed- starting tomorrow. Bennett has been posing for pictures this way for the past several days. Hopefully he'll be on to the next expression soon. There's just something about boys; I remember watching Danielle's boys wrestle around on the floor, thinking, "oh, that's so rough on poor baby Georgie!!" But you know what, they love it!!! Colin and Bennett were up on my bed today, and Bennett was lying across Colin's back with all of his weight, and they both were laughing their heads off! I'm going to have to watch the kids, that they don't smother Colin- although at the rate he's growing, he'll outweight Bennett soon!!

We had such a nice Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, we went to the Mill City farmers market and walked on the Stone Arch Bridge then meandered up north to Tasty Pizza for lunch. Saturday night, I spontaneously went out for a cocktail and movie (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) with my friend Julie. Sunday found us down in Prior Lake for a bit of fishing, and checking out the progress on my parents' kitchen remodel. We attended our first Twins game of the season on Monday (vs. Boston), while our house was being invaded for a showing. Tonight was Annalise's spring program at school. It was absolutely adorable, and highly entertaining! Annalise was so proud, and excited, and was a wonderful cow in the 'I love you, a bushel and a peck' number. Pictures coming soon...

Not Sold- Yet

We have had quite a few showings so far (I think). Other than Tuesday and Wednesday when we didn't have ANY, we have had at least one, and up to 4 showings a day for a week. We even have one tomorrow evening, which I am pretty excited about, considering it's Memorial Day weekend and all. The open house on Sunday had "good traffic" according to our realtor, and I'm holding my breath for the offers which are bound to start rolling in.

[This house better sell soon, because I am discovering that simultaneously having all of these showings, and living in the house with three young kids, is getting the best of me. It's been challenging, but will all be worth it if we are able to move to our dream home.]

Real Estate Update

Our house went up on the MLS yesterday. We had two showings this afternoon. We have 3 scheduled for tomorrow, and an open house scheduled for Sunday from 1-4. We've been keeping busy, and away from the house, since I don't want to have to keep cleaning up behind the kids. We're going down to see my parents tomorrow, since Mike is golfing in Mankato for a bachelor party. I'm not sure yet what we'll do Sunday, although I'd like to get some yoga in (I really need it).

Have a great weekend!

Becoming a Mom x 3

Thank you, Annalise Jacquelyn, Bennett Allen, and Colin August, for letting me learn how to do this job as I go. I LOVE being your mom!

Happy Mother's Day to you, Mom. I really appreciate everything you've done for me, everything you've been through with me and because of me, and I really enjoy watching you be the best grandma ever to my children. I love you, Mom (and Dad and Mike, and A, B, C).

Musical Leanings

I am struck at times by how much music the kids absorb from regular, everyday events. Bennett and Annalise both have a really good ear for singers' voices, and comment on similarities between singers. We always listen to music in the car, and most often lately we listen to Mom's music- usually Cities 97. Recently, Bennett commented on the song on the radio, saying that it was Jack Johnson singing. I said, "actually, it's John Mayer." B says, "John Mayer- he's funky!"

This has been a busy weekend, as was last weekend (and week). I've held off from mentioning anything in the blog, because somehow that would make it real, and might somehow jinx things (?/!), but I guess now's as good as anytime to let the cat out of the bag... We've been so busy the past few weekends, because we're preparing to put our house on the market on Tuesday. We found a property in the area that prompted us to move quickly on attempting to buy it- but first we need to sell. The sewer line was repaired last Monday, the update to the stairway to the basement is almost finished, the storage pod full of excess and items plucked from the rooms in the name of decluttering has been moved from the yard, and the sod guys are coming tomorrow to spiff up following sewer repair lawn damage. I'll speak in more specifics soon, but right now I've got to get back to more packing/staging. Wish us luck, and I'll update you after Tuesday!
