Having Trouble with a Napper

I just helped A back into bed after her second potty trip, where I found her filling a cup with water with a cap from my contact lenses case, with soap chunks skattered all over the sink and countertop.
Mom: "You just need to lay in bed for a few minutes, and listen to your body."
A: "But it's not telling me anything!!"

Bridget- You can't tell me that this picture of B doesn't hold any resemblance to Maren?

Some Recent Annalise Pictures

Here is her post-haircut picture, after she's already wolfed down her first dum dum (she ate Bennett's too).

A is sitting on a stuffed animal, saved from Mike's childhood. I thought Grandma F would get a kick out of seeing this pic.

And here's another picture of our book-aholic. She has gotten in the habit of reading in the mornings before getting dressed for the day. All we have to do is open her shades so she can see the pictures, and we can go back to bed for another 40 minutes or so. Very nice.

More B pictures- after The Haircut

Here's my big boy, about two weeks after his first hair cut. This picture reminds me of a picture my mom and dad have of me, crawling with a toilet paper tube in my mouth. Maybe I'll try to scan it in, so we can compare the two.

Haircuts- Before and During

B's First Haircut- March 8th, 2007
We went to Great Clips by Mike's office for B's first haircut, and A's third haircut. For her other two cuts, we took her to Kids' Hair, but she did just great at Great Clips, and they had the same selection of Dum dums, so everything was copasetic. It was weird getting B's haircut, because she asked how I wanted it, and with Annalise I had some clear ideas, but boys' hair is pretty much a mystery to me. He looks like such a big boy now, without the wings of hair above his ears.

New Boots

March 3rd-
Grandma- Don't leave your choppers at our house, or someone will find a new use for them! Thanks for about 30 minutes of fun!

Hello from Chicago!

I just hopped on Greta's computer for a minute to post a quick note, to let you all know that I got here okay! My flight was fine, but 40 minutes late leaving. Greta and I had a nice little lunch, and now are resting/reading/watching TV before we go to meet her husband Dave for dinner in Naperville. I'm having a hard time switching out of Mommy mode, and am thinking about everybody at home a lot. I'm not worried about them at all though, knowing that they are in the capable hands of superdaddy Mike.

Three Physician Assistants (NOT 3 physicians' assistants- no one owns us!) This is my little crusade- sorry.

Can't Blog----Watching Hockey

I'm still working on a new video clip of the month, and going through pictures to pick the best ones from B's birthday party. I also have to show the kids' new haircuts! But that will all have to wait until Tuesday- I am busy watching hockey!!! Then, I am flying to Chicago and leaving the management of the household in the capable hands of my darling husband.

I Want My Mommy!

I woke up to a wonderful surprise this morning- my dad called to say they were several blocks away, and he would be dropping Mom off to spend the day with us. I don't know how they knew I needed some company (other than my darling children). Grandma J, Shug, and A went outside to play in the snow, while B napped and I showered. Bridget called with bad news- they won't be coming for B's birthday party this weekend, because of the weather. We were really looking forward to seeing them, since they don't get back to Minnesota very often, and their trips are always too short.

Mike is very anxious to get home, and it looks like his flight is still on schedule. I think he'll be surprised by the amount of shoveling awaiting his return!

No School Friday!

I used to be so excited when we'd listen to WCCO for school closings in the morning, and we'd hear our school name announced. Snow Day!!! Today, however, I am less than enthused. I was really counting on going to school tomorrow morning, to get out of the house, to see another adult- ANY adult, face to face, to get something to eat other than the food I have at home (ugghghh), and to go get B's birthday gift. B was going to come along, since he won't know I'm buying something for him, and making a trip to a toy store with A would not be easy. But now, NO school! Arhrhghggh... plus, what's the likelihood of Mike's plane coming in on time? Ha.

I'll be waiting for a Saint Bernard to come to my door with a barrel of brandy tied around his neck. It is brandy, isn't it? Too bad, we don't have any brandy in our liquor cabinet. I might have to break from tradition, and sample something we do have.... this is all mostly talk- I know I'll do just fine with the kids tomorrow. It's just something to complain about.

Housebound!

I am fighting my urges to leave the house as best I can! I must be hard-wired to get out of the house at the first sign of blizzard, torrential downpout, tsunami, etcetera. We've been cooped up now for 27.5 hours, and I've been forced to eat leftovers (I hate leftovers). I shoveled during naptime (neither kid napped today), because I figured if we were going to get a really big dumping of snow, I needed to get some shoveled, so I could handle the rest of it later. Plus, it makes it really hard to shovel once people have walked on the sidewalk. I took these pictures about 15 minutes after I came in- I think I'll just curl up in a ball and wait until Mike gets home...
