Beautiful Day
The weather is finally gorgeous! Good thing, because I have so many cute 3-6 month outfits that I can't wait to dress B in! For those of you who are wondering, no, my sister has not had her baby yet! She has an appointment tomorrow with the OB to discuss induction. I can't relate to her situation, since I never got to sit around waiting for the baby to come- both of mine came unexpectedly early.
We had such a busy weekend. We were in Chippewa Falls for a fastpitch tournament. At the last minute, after the last game of the day, around 9 pm, we decided to stay in Wisconsin at my aunt and uncle's, who live about 40 minutes from the ball field, instead of driving home like we had planned on doing. A had a terrible time- after falling asleep in the car, she woke up about 10 minutes from our destination, and then proceeded to stay up all night long, crying/whining/screaming, but not sleeping at all. I don't know if it would have been better or not to just have gone home, and driven back the next day. Needless to say, we are now a little gun-shy about going anywhere with her which requires an overnight stay, since it's so hard on her.
No tournaments planned for this weekend. I'm looking forward to staying around home actually. Hope you all have safe and fun Memorial Day weekends. Bye!

At the Gym
Well, I have no news to report following our trip to Madison this weekend. No baby! Of course, if Bridget and Steve's baby is anything like his/her cousin B, he wouldn't come when it is convenient for us. Mike's fastpitch tournament was cancelled due to rain, so we just hung out with Bridget and Steve, swam in the hotel pool, and went to the childrens' museum. We had a nice time, especially A in the pool. She also went on the Big Potty at the hotel twice, so she earned her ice cream cone reward. We stopped at my parents' house on our way home to pick up the dog, and we all went to McDonald's for an ice cream cone. She was so proud of herself!
It looks like we'll be able to have Thirsty Thursday outside tomorrow. I think I might browse the liquor store during block time tomorrow, to look for a good wine I had last week, to open at Thirsty Thursday.
I just called to schedule B's 4 month well child visit, as well as his 4 month portrait. My how time flies when you're having fun!

Grocery Shopping Survivor!
I went to Cub today with both kids, and lived to tell about it! It actually went very well. I had B in the baby bjorn, and he slept almost the whole time. A was strapped into a red plastic seat, on apparatus that was connected to the normal shopping cart. She was a very good shopper, and enjoyed a snack of goldfish and ice water, while I picked up the groceries for a week or two. I worked on a Rachael Ray recipe during nap time (chopping, chopping, and more chopping), so I was able to throw it together rather quickly for dinner before Mike headed off to softball. He is pitching tonight, so I hope I don't have to play nurse tonight, with ice packs and NSAIDS.
I'm hoping to get a hair cut on Friday morning, before we get in the car for our trip to Madison. Tomorrow is block time, and I hope to return a few recent clothing purchases, cruise through the clearance racks at Target, and maybe buy a baby gift, so my sister will definitely have the baby this weekend while we're there. I'm crossing my fingers! I'm sure ready for them to have the baby, I don't know if they are though- although you never really can be ready, can you?

Garden Girl
We've been having a lot of fun outside these past few days. I think we're going to have a great time swimming as much as we can this summer. I am planning on taking swimming lessons with A again this summer, while my mom comes along to watch with B. Our summer calendar is starting to fill up already, with plenty of trips planned to Wisconsin for softball and baby showers. And that's not even counting the trips we'll want to make to Madison once Bridget and Steve have their baby. She is due on the 15th, and apparently her feet and neck look like Shrek. Oh I remember the fun of edema!
We have been stuck at 4 stickers on the 5 sticker potty award chart for several days now. She has decreased the frequency of sitting on the potty, and she hasn't gone the times that she has sat down. Oh well, it will come in time. One exciting thing that happened today was that A took a bath in the big bathtub! She has always hated baths, since she was just a baby, so we got an inflatable duck that you set in the tub, and bathe her in there. She wanted to spread out and swim, so we lost the duck- finally! She went swimming at the club with Grandpa and Grandma this weekend, and ever since that's all we've been talking about- blowing bubbles in the water, going underwater, etc.
If we ever stay home on a weekend, I'd like to get my pansies potted. I'd also like to plant some basil, for making pesto. However, this is the weekend we are headed to Madison, because I am sure that Bridget will have her baby while we are there. Oh, and Mike is playing in a fastpitch tournament there too.
An early Happy Mother's Day to all of the mommies I know! Keep up the good work! I was supposed to go grocery shopping tonight, but just can't muster the energy to do so, so I may venture out with both babies tomorrow. Wish me luck! I am still very hesitant to go out with both of them in tow, but I'm sure I'll get better at it as time goes by.

Birthday Recap
As promised, here is a glimpse of A's 2 year birthday party. The picture on the left was after a long day of partying hard, and it showed. Last night was the first of our series of Thirsty Thursdays. Mike and I are making an attempt to see our friends on a more frequent basis, so we have invited friends from all circles to our house every week to hang out and have a drink or two. Too bad it was freezing cold! Mike and I are dropping A off at Grandpa and Grandma's, and going to Rochester for our friend Chris's wedding on Saturday. We're staying over night, and Mike's mom will be watching B while we are at the reception. I'm looking forward to letting A spend some quality time with her grandparents (read: I'm looking forward to a little time away from my favorite two year old!)

Potty Alert! Potty Alert!
Toilet training has begun! I had no intentions to seriously begin potty training, at least not until I get the hang of managing two children, but A is ready so, off we go! She first peed in the potty yesterday, and again today. I made a reward chart, where she needs to go on the potty 5 times and then she gets an ice cream cone. She sure is motivated, because she loves her ice cream! After an awful morning, the day turned around, and was very nice. We had a great time outside, playing with the hose and a bucket and watering can. I need to buy some new shirts for A- I think she grew a few inches over night, because her snap in the crotch shirts no longer fit, and the sleeves are now 3/4 length, when they aren't supposed to be that way.
