Time Flies...

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive. It's been a busy week. I'll check in later this weekend. Went to the zoo today with Grandpa and Grandma, and took the Duoglider on its maiden voyage.

How You Doin'?

I figured I better try to treat my children equally as far as celebrity on the blog goes, so here's another picture of my little B. He is a spit up maniac! The milk pours out of him faster than I can put it in! He still hasn't figured out his nights from his days, but he is starting to be a little more alert during the day, so I think it'll get straightened out soon.

After...

Here is the After shot! She doesn't even look scarred for life! We (meaning me) decided to go with the little dutch boy look- straight bangs across the forehead, and a stacked bob in back. I'm really surprised by how much body the bob gives her hair. I always thought that she didn't even have enough hair to cut, but it's amazing what they can do at a kids' hair salon.

Hope you all have a great weekend. At this point of sleep deprivation, all the days blur together, and I won't even notice a difference between a Saturday and a Tuesday. Especially since the advent of the Tivo, we don't even have to think about there being no good tv on on the weekends. Mike would like to get A's room finished up, and then he'll post pictures. The blinds are being installed on Monday. I don't think I mentioned that A has been napping in her room for the past week or so, and it has been going very well. She also wore a pair of training pants today, until she peeled them off in the living room because they were wet. "Wet! Wet!" - at least she was bothered by the fact that they were wet. We're going to have to get more t-shirts for her to wear around the house, so she can strip down to sit on the potty at a moments notice.

On its way...

The After picture is coming, don't worry! I just love to build a little suspense. Actually, I didn't have enough time during nap today to get it done. Mike and I just got done having a lovely candlelit dinner, of New York strip and baked potatoes with wine and creme brulee and tiramisu for dessert. B was quiet in the bouncy chair the whole time. It was heaven. Mike said, "this is like vacation!"

My Babies

Here is my happy family. Today was my first block time, just B and me. We had a good time. I went shopping and treat myself to a new outfit, which I'll probably wear for Easter or B's baptism. I caught a great sale, and used a coupon, so it doesn't get much better than that. I had a chai, and did some grocery shopping and all in all had a nice morning.

I have three dinners in mind, for which I bought all the groceries I'll need, and that is a great feeling. I hate the nightly struggle Mike and I go through trying to decide what to eat for supper. I'm going to make the pasta dish my friend Danielle posted on her blog- http://www.areyoueffingkiddingme.blogspot.com/.

You might have noticed that this is Mike's first posting. I emailed some pictures to him at work, and he got them posted lickety split- so now, with his cooperation, I'll have many more pictures on the blog! Yea!

Before...

Here is a picture of A on Tuesday morning, 3/21. She was having a fun time walking around the house in her rain boots. Later that day, Mike and I took her and her brother (he just went to watch) to get her first haircut. It was quite traumatic! Mike got the whole ordeal on video, which I think will be played for her prom date in 2022. She screamed and cried the whole time, and I had to hold her in the seat, since she kept sliding down, even though she was buckled. An Elmo DVD was playing, but to no avail. She reached hysterical level when the blow dryer came out. The only redeeming aspect of the event was the dum dum which evil mommy allowed her to have afterwards. If you know me, that was a really huge thing, to let her have a lollipop. We went to the library after the haircut to pick up some new books, and Mike and I couldn't stop looking at A. She was a whole new person- gone was our adorable baby, and in her place was a cute little girl! Bittersweet.

Our First Separation

We went to the WCHA Final Five hockey game last night, and left A and B home with Grandpa and Grandma. A went to bed without any trouble, and B was a good little bottle-taker for his grandparents. The game went into overtime, and I was very ready to nurse B when we got home, but he had a great time being held and sleeping all evening. It was great to get out, and watch some free hockey!

Today, Mike is taking A to the afternoon game, and then his parents are coming to watch the kids (woah, that is weird to type) for the evening game. Too bad the gophers aren't in the championship game, but it will still be a good time, hanging out with the gang.

Proud Big Sister

Here is our almost-2-year-old! She has been such a good helper, bringing over wipes and a "new Elmo (diaper)" for diaper changes and carrying B's pacifier all over the house. A has been sleeping in her Big Girl Bed at night since last Thursday, and it has been going really well. Naps still take place in her crib, because she was not sleeping, but instead was busying herself piling everything not nailed down in the room into her bed. She also was scaling the gate we placed in the doorway, after she figured out how to turn the doorknob. We'll give it another try soon, but for now it is more important to me to have her down for a nap, for my sanity.

Here is our darling little helper, this time helping with painting her new room. After the painting fiasco, she now summarized the event by saying "new room, green, walls, elbow, hands..." when we say the word 'paint.' I'll have to post some pictures of the completed room; we just have a few more things to do before it's ready for its House Beautiful photo shoot. I'm really happy with how the decorating turned out.

Joyful Announcement

I am pleased to announce the birth of our son, Bennett. He was born on Tuesday, February 28th, 2006 at 9:38 p.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 7.6 ounces and was 19 inches long. Bennett came home on Wednesday, March 8th. Everyone is doing well, and we are so happy to have him home.

As Rick Springfield says...(the point is probably moot)

I am sitting in butter, a coffee shop near home, using their wonderfully speedy DSL, so I am finally able to post some pictures. Here is the photo I have been promising of "35 week belly." Lucky we took that photo, because at 5 a.m. on February 28th (35 4/7 weeks), my pregnancy was coming to a close.
