Here is our almost-2-year-old! She has been such a good helper, bringing over wipes and a "new Elmo (diaper)" for diaper changes and carrying B's pacifier all over the house. A has been sleeping in her Big Girl Bed at night since last Thursday, and it has been going really well. Naps still take place in her crib, because she was not sleeping, but instead was busying herself piling everything not nailed down in the room into her bed. She also was scaling the gate we placed in the doorway, after she figured out how to turn the doorknob. We'll give it another try soon, but for now it is more important to me to have her down for a nap, for my sanity.
Here is our darling little helper, this time helping with painting her new room. After the painting fiasco, she now summarized the event by saying "new room, green, walls, elbow, hands..." when we say the word 'paint.' I'll have to post some pictures of the completed room; we just have a few more things to do before it's ready for its House Beautiful photo shoot. I'm really happy with how the decorating turned out.

She's sooo cute, what a smile! I remember the first time Mark and I thought it would be a good idea to let Charlie "Help" us paint. It was last summer when we were painting the exterior of the house. We thought, "heck, we're outside, how much damage can he do", well a lot as we quickly learned. Within minutes he had stepped in paint and was tracking it all over the new deck. Then we stopped watching him for a minute to clean up the mess, only to find him painting the brick, which was not to be painted. Then we realized that we hadn't put on some old shoes and that the new ones we had bought him were now ruined. Good Times.
