Here is one of the first pictures I took with our new digital SLR! I'm going to have to figure it out quickly, so #3 doesn't complain as a teenager that "it's so unfair- all (4) of my baby pictures are blurry!" The title of today's post alludes to the fun we've been having recently with A and B's communication difficulties. Apparently it's only around me though, since Grandpa and Grandma took the kids swimming yesterday (MEA break), and they had a wonderful fight-free, whine-free time.

Tuesday

Here is my 37 week belly. It has definitely dropped since this picture was taken. I had a rough night last night, thinking that "this is it" and ready to call my parents over to watch the kids. Then nothing ended up happening. I've got to get out of my head. How do you stop thinking????? I've never been good at that.

We had a nice day at home yesterday, Mike was home for Columbus Day! I had a nice yoga class in the morning, and Mike got the cords of our entertainment center wrangled last evening. Bennett and I had lunch over at Danielle and Henry's today- thanks, D, it is so nice to have someone cook for us. Tonight is my last night volunteering at Blooma for who knows how long.
The kids carved pumpkins on Sunday. We left the mommy and daddy pumpkins to carve for closer to Halloween, but Annalise just couldn't wait to get her's carved.

The poll stated that you, my loyal readers, think we're going to have a boy. However, Mike had a dream last night that we had a girl, so that trumps all of you! He also dreamt that I immediately wanted to go on vacation after giving birth- does he know me, or what?

Oh, BTW, I made it to weekly appointments!

We'll see if I actually make it to my first weekly appointment, scheduled for Friday the 17th. I'm pretty excited to even have made it to the scheduling of weeklies!

36 week visit

We had an appointment with the midwife yesterday. Baby is measuring right on, and is head-down. Heartbeat was in the 150's. Although I'm not going to have this baby until November 1st, I am ready to go at any time. My bag is packed, and I've gotten all the big things done that I wanted to get done. Bennett has been sleeping in his big boy bed since Sunday night, and it went flawlessly. He did fall out of bed, around the railing on maybe Monday or Tuesday night, but we've since put a feather bed on the hardwood floor to break his fall, if he should repeat that stunt. Annalise has been sleeping on a mattress on her floor, since she gave up her bed to her brother, awaiting her bunk bed, which should be coming this weekend.

Bennett starts block time tomorrow, where he'll be at his "school" from 9 until 1 every Friday. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself tomorrow, but once the baby comes, it will be nice to maybe take a nap with the baby, and not have to leave the house until 12:30 to pick up Bennett. We'll be getting our pumpkins on Saturday, and might go to a Fire Station open house on Sunday, but otherwise I think we're ready for a low-key weekend.

I just noticed this is the first day my baby ticker is in the final box! Woah...I'd better go pack my hospital bag.

Down on the Farm

Do you spy little B in the garden?

We had a nice time at Grandpa and Grandma F's this weekend. We took the pop up camper down to rest for the winter in the machine shed (after one last night of camping in the back yard on Saturday). We spent some fun time in the garden picking eggplant, bell peppers, green beans, raspberries, cucumbers, and tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes galore!

Some of you may have already known that I was a bit nervous to be traveling far from home, as I reached 35 weeks gestation on Sunday, and that is when I had Bennett unexpectedly. The weekend went off without a hitch, and now I am safely sticking around home for the duration of this pregnancy.

Except today; I was a parent chaperone for the Little Flowers field trip to Apple Jack's apple orchard in Delano! I can't believe my baby is old enough for the 4 year old and up field trips now. We had a nice time learning about pollination, sampling apples, cider, and apple spice donuts, and taking a wagon ride through the orchard, but boy oh boy it was COLD! Luckily we were prepared, and wore our coats, hats, mittens, and Annalise even had on her scarf. Bennett had a nice morning at home, playing trains with Grandma.

The rest of the week is filled with stuff: I volunteer at Blooma tonight, Mike is headed off on a work trip on Wednesday morning-Thursday, the kids have a dentist appointment on Thursday (Bennett's first time), and other things which escape me right now. And of course TV- our tivo is filling up already, we are going to have to start discerning what merits high def, and what we can watch 20th century-style.
