This and That

The kids LOVE wearing my shoes!

Adventure Awaits

We're off on a trip to parts unknown- we are pointing our minivan southward, and looking forward to cartrip fun with Grandpa and Grandma, an almost 5 yr old, 3 yr old, and 4 month old. Fun, fun, fun! I'll report back next week with a recount of our adventures. Have a great week!

Baby C finds his voice!

I shot this little clip last week (Tues), while C was on the changing table getting ready for bedtime (hence the mood lighting). He has since been doing much more singing, shrieking, cooing, etc. but this was one of the first times I captured it on film, so I thought I would share it with you.

The sweetest sound

This is a little clip I shot of the boys on March 4th, while we were all upstairs in the green room (I'm just going to label the rooms by color, now that I don't know who is going to be in each room for how long...). This phenomenon (displayed in the video) is one of my favorite things about being a parent to siblings. What joy!

Final Five weekend

It's that time again! And par for the course, I am both soooo ready to get away and watch some hockey, and it's also the worst time to escape life's responsibilities. I am finally starting to feel better after a two day mysterious intestinal ailment, which caused Mike to stay home from work the past two days and cover for me. Colin has been sleeping very poorly, and Bennett has been up to his usual "I don't like my bed" tactics. Annalise has been running a 102 fever the past few nights, but only during the night, and then wakes up rarin' to go.

On Sunday, Mike and I were very pleased to stand up as Laurel's godparents at her baptism. We went to Bridget and Steve's afterwards for a taco bar, chips, guacamole, and baptismaritas! Now that's what I call a baptism. I'm still thinking about the amazing chocolate chocolate cake from Edelweiss Bakery. I'm glad my sister picked up my tradition of getting a really fancy cake for baptisms.

Sunday night, we once again played musical beds- taking the crib apart and moving it back to the nursery. Now A and B are together in the green room, with the bunk bed and Mike's childhood twin bed, and they are doing really well together so far. I'm planning on decorating both rooms with very neutral decor so at any time we could have any combination of kids in rooms, depending on who needs his/her own room. I hope it stays this way for at least a while though, because moving furniture is hard work! And I didn't even consider moving the contents of the closets.

Bridget and Co. are coming over tonight to watch the kids for the night game, and Mike's parents will be coming tomorrow morning to cover the rest of the weekend. I have to keep up my pumping, to make sure I have enough bottles to cover the whole tournament. Oh, what a super fan.

My Baby is 4 Months old!

Colin continues to be a sweet, smiley, giggly baby. He is super close to rolling from back to belly. He is really good at holding rattles and pulling anything and everything to his mouth. He has been waking up to eat every night lately at 1:30 and 4:30 like clockwork. He's starting to have a bit of trouble going down for naps, and I haven't quite figured out his schedule yet. I've been having the best luck getting him to nap by putting him in his carseat and swinging him for a while. I'm eager to find out how much Frank the Tank weights at his well child visit tomorrow.

Comment from the backseat:

"Mom, slow down a little bit."

I love Bennett's pace in life. It was a nice reminder to do just that- slow down, and take it all in. I'm having such a fun ride, and so glad who is sharing life with me! Now Bennett's volume, on the other hand....

Something about Bennett that has always made me laugh is his insistence on what we call him. "Are you my little snugglebutton?" I ask. "No, just Bennett."

"Hey, Buzzy B!" "No, I'm just Bennett!"
