Fast Week!

I can't really think of anything to report- I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already. We met with our architect again this week regarding our basement remodeling project, and we really feel like things are getting underway, finally. I've been working like a maniac at getting stuff thrown away, boxed up, and carried to the garage, so the basement is all emptied and ready for demolition.

Mike and I had Nok and Pat come over for pizza tonight, and after the kids were in bed, Mike and I went to see a movie- Fracture. Tomorrow morning is packing day for me, as we are heading to Madison to cheer for Steve, running (and walking two miles ourselves) in the Crazy Legs Classic. More about that later...

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Bunny Brunch Success

We had a very nice weekend, including A's Bunny Brunch on Sunday, celebrating her 3rd birthday. We took a stroll to the park, where A and her cousin Adryen played, while Grandma J got B to sleep in the stroller. A got a fairy princess costume, complete with rainbow-colored wings for her birthday, which she decided was the appropriate attire for the park visit. We had pancake cake (white butter cake poured into a 9" round many times, and stacked) with berries and whipped cream out on the patio when we returned from the park (because the park building was locked when a bathroom visit was required.)

A's three year well-child visit was yesterday. She had to change into a little gown, opening in the back, which was so cute! She also did vision and hearing tests, which she passed with flying colors! She thought "playing those games" was fun, and it was so cute seeing her raise her hand when she heard a beep, and wearing glasses with one eye covered to do the vision screening. Weighing in at 29 pounds, A is 35% for weight and only 15% for height.

Attention Casting Agents

Lately I've been catching glimpses of A that remind me of Cynthia Nixon. Maybe if they do a Sex in the City movie, A could be cast as a young Miranda. After school today, I just couldn't bear heading home for another uninspired, thrown-together meal, so we were graciously invited to Heather, Zach, and Izzi's house for lunch. We then went to Lynnhurst park, and it was SO nice to be outside. This summer might be a challenge with little B being mobile, and still very oral! He didn't put any sand or rocks in his mouth at the park today though, so that was a nice surprise. Mike and I have to get ready for A's 3rd birthday party on Sunday. It looks like the weather is going to be great for the party!!!

A Study of Expressions

A and I have been reading Dr. Seuss's My Many Colored Days lately, and therefore discussing emotions and facial expressions. Yesterday during snacktime, I took some pictures of A with various expressions. I already forgot which feeling she is portraying in each shot- I'll have to edit this post when A is awake, and can tell me what is what.

Our spring break week passed quickly. We avoided the zoo, shopping malls, anywhere that would be flooded with spring breaking school kids. It will be nice to get back to school- especially since our first day back in school is A's third birthday!!!! Wow, how the time has flown. Our family is having so much fun; Mike and I love nothing more than sitting on the rug in our family room, and playing with the joys in our lives. Although it was really nice the other night to get a babysitter, and go to happy hour at McCoy's with Eric and Chad. Happy Easter to everyone!
B had some expressions too, as he was snacking on crackers.
